Blogger Overload!

We haven't blogged in a few days, so sorry for the overload. But, she is so cute that we have to catch up on everything we've missed. These are just some way cut pictures. She looks so grown up with her hair all done...

Honey doe List I was given

Since I have a time of free time on my hands these days, Steffanie said that she would like to have me strip down the dresser and stain it to match our end tables. So I decided to take care of it know instead of latter. Here are some pictures of the process.

The Happiest Place on Earth!

I generally like to think that I work in one of the greatest places that you could work, and that's at the hospital on the mother/baby floor with all the excited parents and cute little babies. Last night at work a visitor to one of my patients and a neighbor growing up said, that coming to see a new baby is always a happy time. She loves coming to the hospital for these occasions... However, sometimes it is a very sad time for families and little did she know that just a few doors down there was a mom and dad grieving the loss of their beautiful baby that was 37 weeks. At work on saturday night I had the opportunity to take care of this family and again last night I was able to help them with some stuff. When I first met this mom and dad my heart was instantly broken. I so badly wanted to ease their pain, and as I was able to help them last night I wanted to cry with them (i tried holding off until leaving their room). As my heart was breaking over and over for this little family I couldn't help but say a little prayer and thank Heavenly Father for my beautiful daughter and for eternal families and to give them peace and comfort.
Through the night I had a lot of time to think about how important the gospel is in my life and without the knowledge that I have of the plan of salvation I don't think I could make it through a single day. I am so grateful to have my family for eternity and to have made sacred covenants with Heavenly Father in the temple! The happiest place on earth might not be where I work, but it is truly with my eternal family.

Funny Little Girl...

There are no pictures for this little story, but it is so cute that we need to get it down before we forget it... After the parade yesterday we came home and took naps. When we all woke up we were just hanging around the house Shadd and I were playing the Wii and Kenidee was just playing with her toys. Kenidee disappeared from the room for a few minutes, came back grabbed two of her blankies, and disappeared again. Shadd asked me if I knew what she was doing and I replied that I didn't want to know. Then, "Splash!" Not just any splash, but the kind of splash that comes from the toilet bowl... Shadd got up and went to see what had happened. He walked into the bathroom and Kenidee hands him her doll (made of cloth, not plastic) that just happened to be soaking wet. She then was trying to dry off her baby with the blankets that were on the floor also wet... Needless to say, our sweet little girl had decided to give her baby a bath and was using her very own blankets to dry her off :0) What a sweet and oh so funny little girlie!!

Lounging Around...

This afternoon we went over to Lisa and Jay's for a BBQ. They have some really fun hammocks in their backyard and Kenidee enjoyed one for a few minutes...

July 4th

We had a great Holiday Weekend. Friday night our friends invited us to go to the Stadium of Fire with them. Saturday morning we woke up early and at about 7:30 we walked over to where the parade was. On a normal Saturday we sleep till 9 or 10 and for sure never leave the house before noon! Kenidee loved the parade. She would get so excited when the marching bands would come through. She would start dancing to all the music.

Now were at the Stadium of Fire. Our seats were at the very top of the stadium, past the nose bleed section..., which was actually great because we could stand up and sit on the wall behind us. These are our cheesy faces...

Family Pic

The dancers were all very good. At this particular time the dancers on the stage in the middle of the field were dancing and jumping rope with fire! The huge flag you see in the top left corner of the picture was very torn up and ragged. It has been used at the Stadium of Fire for the last 13 years and it hung in Salt Lake during the Olympics. The flag is usually used by the dancers and it covers the entire field. Tonight for its last use they let it fly freely...

Kenidee was mesmerized by the fireworks.

This was the last time the huge flag was ever going to be used. After it hung freely for all to see, the Color Guard from the US Army walked it from the parking lot to this cauldron in center field.

They then placed it in the cauldron and properly retired it. It was a very emotional experience. We literally felt as if a loved one had died and was being put to rest. It was so incredible to see and be a part of!

They first lit the fire for the cauldron which then lit the flame on the torch that looks like the one the Statue of Liberty is holding.

The firework show was kind of short, but it was very cool!

of course, little Missy fell asleep before the fireworks were over...

We hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We are so grateful to live in this Country and have all of the freedoms that we do!

Changed our mind...

We changed our mind about keeping our blog private. There are just too many people that look at it, and we didn't want to leave anyone out. Sorry for all the inconvienence. Thanks everyone for being patient with us :0)
