Johnson Family 2010

Merry Christmas to all our Family and Friends! We have had quite the year and are very excited to give you a recap of the past 12 months in the lives of the Johnson Family…

JANUARY: This happens to be the month all the craziness started…Steff started Nursing School, Shadd took on full time “Daddy Duty” and turned 26, we were 8 weeks pregnant with baby no. 2, and Kenidee was the light of our lives. As life began to get utterly crazy, we did not really know what we were in for. Who new we would only see each other in passing on most days of the week?

FEBRUARY: Steff turned 24…sadness is beginning to set in as she realizes that in a few short months she will be a “quarter of a century”…

MARCH: We were finally getting used to our busy lives. To give you a little taste…Both Shadd and Steff are in school full time, Steff going during the day and Shadd going at night. Shadd is earning his Associates in Drafting and Computer Drafting and Design and Steff is getting her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. On top of school, there is still work…Shadd was having lots of interviews, but there was always someone a little more qualified and Steff is still working as a nurses assistant on the maternity floor at the local hospital.

APRIL: We were very happy to find out that we were going to be blessed with Baby GIRL #2!!

MAY: Kenidee turned 2!!! We can’t imagine our lives without this sweet little girl. She brings us so much joy and happiness. She is such a “drama queen” and can change her personality with the snap of a finger. She always keeps us laughing. She adores her baby sister and is the first to run to her and answer her cry. They will be the best of friends as they grow up!

JUNE AND JULY: The craziness continues with work, school, and Kenidee…

AUGUST: Shadd and Steff celebrated their 4-year anniversary on the 11th! We can’t believe it has been 4 years already. Shadd surprised me by getting a babysitter and taking me to dinner and a movie. He is always so thoughtful and I couldn’t ask for a better husband. I however, am not the greatest date…after working a 12-hour clinical and being 9-months prego, I fell asleep before the movie even started… Two days later, on Friday the 13th at 3:10 am Kailee Johnson was born weighing 8lb. 7oz! She has brought so much happiness to our little family and we are so grateful to be blessed with two beautiful girls.

SEPTEMBER: Life is still as crazy as crazy can be. Shadd is loving being home with his girls, but after being laid off from work for so long he is really trying hard to find a job. Between school, work, and kiddos we really don’t get a lot of time together as a family, but there is an end in sight and next summer we might have to plan a trip to Disneyland and the Bahamas!!

OCTOBER: Kailee was blessed on October 10. This was such an amazing day! How did we ever survive without her in our family! (growing up I only wanted 1 girl, but if I knew they were going to be this much fun I would have wished for 10, and since Shadd wants at least one boy, we will probably get a few more girls…)

NOVEMBER: Finally, a little holiday weekend to spend time together as a family and eat lots of food! We have so much to be grateful for. We have been blessed by so many wonderful people. Without everyone, we would not have made it through the last two years. One thing we are most grateful for is for the opportunity we have to be obedient to the Lord’s commandments. Without his blessings or our obedience we would not be where we are today…Shadd got a job!!! He is working for a drafting company called Action Target out of Springville.

DECEMBER: After two very hard years we are so grateful for all of the blessings that have happened in our family over the last couple of weeks. So many people have been there to help us everyday with our girls and making sure we have everything we need. We are so excited for Christmas! It is so fun to see Kenidee start to understand what is going on. She is obsessed with our Christmas tree. When we get home from being gone for a while she will run and give the tree a hug! We are looking forward to helping her understand about our Savior, the life he lived for us, and the true meaning of Christmas. Kailee is now four months old. She is the smiliest girl we know. She is such a good baby and we love her so much. Starting Monday (Dec, 20th) we both have two weeks off school and we couldn’t be more excited for a little time to spend together and rejuvenate ourselves.

As we prepare for the Christmas holiday we are so grateful for the “reason for the season”…Jesus Christ. We know that through him all things are possible and that if he hadn’t come to earth we would have nothing to work towards. Christmas is our favorite time of year. We love everything about it and we look forward to the many opportunities we have to bless the lives of others.

Things to look forward to in 2011: Graduation!!! Both of us will graduate in June (we just might have to make a paper chain to hang around our entire house to pull a ring off each day to help us with the countdown). We can hardly wait to be done and get our life into a normal routine that includes mandatory “spend the day as a family” days!! We wish you all the best!

With Love,

Shadd, Steff, Kenidee, and Kailee
